• Just back from a trip to the meeting point of Norway / Finland / Russia, full travelogue here. Short section of video showing a gravel road in Lapland here.

The truck performed really well apart from a niggle (again!) with the unfit-for-purpose push-fit diesel supply fittings.

After many attempts to make these fittings good, and reading of others who have had these fittings fail, I've finally junked them and replaced all of the fittings on the fuel-system supply side with crimp-style connectors. I absolutely, 100%, urge anyone else with a Leyland DAF to do the same.

The standard push-fit fittings will fail at some point or other...

Tweaks and fixes are an ongoing part of the project. This series of pages form a blog - of sorts - and is intended to give a flavour of the day-to-day realities of living with the truck as issues crop up and tweaks and fixes progress. Many of the posts eventually end up getting written up properly and included in the main body of the Trip Truck site; so if you think you have read any of the older posts somewhere else, you almost certainly have.
