• Currently working on some heater upgrades.

One of the things that has bugged me for the past couple of years is all the wasted 'incidental' heat that is generated by the diesel / gas space heaters that has to this point been contained in the lockers that they occupy.

In an effort to productively utilise this heat - and keep the recirculated air that feeds the heaters cooler - I bought a Truma Multivent fan 2nd hand for a bargain price and have installed it as per the pic (the brown ducted unit to the left). It seems to work well.

After about two hours of running the space heater(s), switching on the Multivent sucks the incidental heat from the top of the lockers the heaters occupy and blows it into the habitation area. As the heaters continue to burn fuel, so they continue to heat the 'locker' air which the Multivent then scavanges and blows into the living area.

Result = cooler lockers and warmer habitation area.

    Win - win...

Tweaks and fixes are an ongoing part of the project. This series of pages form a blog - of sorts - and is intended to give a flavour of the day-to-day realities of living with the truck as issues crop up and tweaks and fixes progress. Many of the posts eventually end up getting written up properly and included in the main body of the Trip Truck site; so if you think you have read any of the older posts somewhere else, you almost certainly have.
