Unfeasibly hot today, 40° showed on one pharmacy thermometer. 32° inside truck with everything open.

Impressed once again by French civic pride. Every town and village neat and tidy in exactly the way GB isn't.

Overnighting in a clearing in woodland in a 'natural park', the glade is teeming with insects. Incredible numbers of grasshoppers and butterflies as well as all manner of flies / hornets and other winged beasts that I have little clue about.

We used this spot 4 years ago and found shoes nailed to a tree. They are still here. Weird, as the area is really desolate and not the usual kind of place to nail shoes to trees.
