A bonus from last night's camp was that as we drove off we got ever-better views of Eilean Donan castle. It must be one of the most photographed sights on Scotland but rarely from the small road we descended (some overhanging vegetation management was required).

A short hop over the Skye bridge (unexpectedly fun) saw us on Skye where initial impressions are much as anticipated, unfortunately. It seems very, very touristy. Not in any really tacky way, but the industry is pretty obviously the breadwinner.

And so we baled from the formality and followed a de-forested forest track to the location shown (pic). From here we have top sea views and can see Eigg (very impressive and inviting) and even as far as the lighthouse we visited a few years ago at Ardnamurchan Point.

An afternoon of sea watching and general bumbling with binoculars made for a good lazy day, offset only by us both fitting a (tough) run in.
