Eastern Balkans Trip - Day 10 - Corsica

Blogging at 16:05 on Thursday 28th July from N 42.88720°, E 09.43565° / http://maps.google.com/maps?q=loc:42.88720%2C09.43565

Well, some uncertainty has just been sent our way. We'd just settled at the spot shown at the coordinates and, following a pretty hectic day, were just starting to wind down when we received a call from Corsica Ferries basically telling us that 'technical difficulties' for our sailing tomorrow had meant a change of ship and that our stupidly big truck wouldn't fit on it.

There followed quite some lengthy discussion, during which we were offered numerous alternative sailings, but for reasons many and varied none were suitable. Essentially, none of them would have meant we could make Lucca in Italy by Friday night in order that we could (hopefully) have a bash at the parkrun there on Saturday morning.

It was starting to look like plans were dashed when I asked if there was anything (that we would fit on) leaving this evening. Bingo! They were just able to squeeze us on to a ship leaving at half past seven tonight as long as we could make it to Bastia to check in no later than 18:30.

We'd best get cracking...
