Had a nice walk in the forest this morning but found this 'scream' tree close to where we'd camped - not at all disconcerting.

Many butterflies in this area including white admiral and quite a few purple emperors. These are super-rare and notoriously difficult to spot in the UK as they are wood canopy dwellers. Here they obligingly sit on the ground and have their photos taken.

Did a tourist cave this afternoon. Very sanitised but some brilliant formations, very vivid colours and a really clear underground fast-flowing stream. Commentary was only in SK/CZ/Polish so had no idea what they were banging on about.

Thunderstorms this afternoon and we are at altitude in the Low Tatras mountains so feeling cold at 25°.

Speaking of Tatras, seeing a lot in CZ and SK, they do look they would convert into a cool overlander.

For desert, satnav took us over an outrageous crumbling road where trucks weren't allowed and a bit (not crucial) fell off the truck. All good fun.
